Do you want to develop your skills to plan and deliver successful events both online and face-to-face? The course will give you an overview and helpful tips and tools that you can use when delivering both small and large events.

What is this course about?

This course will help you to plan, deliver, manage and evaluate a successful event: from setting objectives and creating a project plan, to marketing and management on the day, through to gathering feedback and capturing results.

The vision and big picture plan are certainly crucial, but so are some of the tiny details, when it comes to delivering memorable events.

Learn about bringing all these elements together in a manageable way to ensure a stress-free event that creates immediate impact and positive word-of-mouth endorsement from participants.

What will you learn?

This course will help you:

  • Set effective aims and objectives.
  • Develop a project plan, including venue research, devising a simple budget, and planning your programme.
  • Manage the process using a Gantt chart, monitoring and adapting and setting targets and milestones.
  • Plan for online events.
  • Marketing your event.
  • Understand the principles of effective reporting and evaluation.

Why is this relevant or important now?

The whole events process, including voluntary and community events in particular, has changed radically due to coronavirus. Planning and running an event looks very different now, with formats, budgets and staff teams changing.

Our trainers have over a year’s experience running online events via Zoom, plus many years’ experience running face-to-face events of all sizes and budgets for different audiences and purposes.

Who is the course for?

This intermediate course is aimed at those working in the VCSE sector who plan and deliver events and want to improve their skills.

You will have organised and/or helped to run at least one event before, either as a volunteer, trustee or a member of staff.
