Online two-day Adult Mental Health First Aid course, accredited by MHFA England. This course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider.

Learn about mental health and how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

This live online two-day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:

  • An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix.

Format

This is an online course delivered through the MHFA England Online Learning Hub.

Learning takes place through two days of live training sessions.

We limit numbers to 12 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn

Takeaways

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider
  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it
  • A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan
  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

 

We ask for your work or home address (whichever is appropriate) when you register and pay for the course. This is so the workbook, manual and reference card can be posted to you asap.

Start and finish times:

Please arrive in the online waiting room at 8.45 am for a prompt 9.00 am start, finish time will be 5.00 pm on both days. Participants must be available for the full 2-day duration to receive their certification. There will be lunch and comfort breaks throughout both days.

Cancellation or unforeseen difficulties:

If you are unable to attend, please can you let us know as soon as possible by emailing training@bristolmind.org.uk Cancellation less than 35 days before date of delivery of the first training session, will incur a cancellation charge of 50% of agreed fees and cancellation less than 2 week before date of delivery of the first training session, will incur a cancellation charge of the full agreed fees.

Materials

A workbook and manual which is yours to keep and refer to beyond the training will be posted to you on registering and paying the course fee. This normally tales approximately 10 days to be despatched from MHFA England.
