Cyber Security & Avoiding Online Scams

The course will teach people about cyber security basics, with some simple guidance that can be understood and implemented by non-technical people. It’ll also signpost ongoing free support and resources that can be accessed in the area, to reduce the pain and expense of staying safer. This course is run in partnership with the Cyber Resilience Centre for the South West.

What is this course about?

The course will cover a number of simple cyber security steps that can protect organisations from cyber attacks, and help them recover if the worst happens. It will signpost additional resources and support that can be post-event accessed without charge.

Who is the course for?

Anyone responsible for, of just worried about, the cyber security of their own organisation. It’s not aimed at a technical audience and won’t be going into huge technical detail, but there will also be aspects of relevance to those who consider themselves knowledgeable in this area.

Why is this relevant or important now?

Three in ten charities report a cyber breach or attack in the last twelve months. Government figures, from the DCMS annual cyber breaches report.
