Steps to strengthen your business plan – Action planning 101

In this dynamic session, we will explore the link between the Business Model Canvas and the Business Plan.

Attendees will have the chance to explore business planning best practice, and identify key gaps and areas of improvement in their own plans. Attendees will have the opportunity to work on their own business problem in the session, and to work on their own action planning skills.

Attendees will leave the session with an action plan to enable them to take the next steps in delivering their business plans.

Throughout, we will draw on practical examples from around the VCSE sector.

This program is part of Social Economy West - a West of England Combined Authority initiative, delivered in partnership with Business West and expert partners to support the social economy across the region. The programme is funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority via the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Who is this session for?

Any staff member with oversight of the business plan and business model and who’s responsible for delivering the plan.  

Open to more than one person per organisation if useful. 

Relevant to non-profit organisations with a trading arm (e.g. social enterprise, CIC, CLG), who wish to explore how best to put their business plan in to practical action.

What will you learn?

At the end of this session participants will: 

  • Understand the elements of an action plan to support delivery of the aims of their business plan 
  • Be able to identify barriers to delivering these aims and how to resolve them e.g. identifying gaps 
  • Have a practical template to use within their organisation

Why is this session relevant or important now?

An action plan will help you to understand the resources you need to deliver your business plan, the capacity you have and identify any gaps.
